COVID-19 and Bridgetown Acupuncture Clinic Policy

We are excited to announce we are doing a slow open of acupuncture treatments starting May 6th with limited office hours.

Governor Brown is allowing clinics to provide non-urgent medical procedures, including acupuncture as of this time. Our focus is to provide the best care possible to our patients while maintaining a clean and safe environment. We will continue to closely monitor the recommendations from Governor Brown and the Oregon Health Authority, and will adapt clinic policies and procedures as needed.

You can now schedule up to one week in advance for in-person appointments. If you do not feel safe leaving your home, we ask that you wait to schedule an in-person appointment. We will continue to offer telemedicine appointments available to provide Chinese Herbal formulas, acupressure points, moxa, lifestyle recommendations and qigong for the foreseeable future!

We are following the Oregon Health Authority guidelines by:
  1. Decreasing caseload volume to maximize social distancing.
  2. We encourage patients to wait to schedule their in-person appointment if they are in high-risk groups “such as those over age 60 and those with compromised immune systems or lung and heart function”.
  3. Following CDC guidance and changing operations and procedures to minimize risk to patients, health care workers and others.

To ensure safety we are implementing the following protocols (subject to change based on new guidelines):
  • We have removed items that cannot be disinfected properly from treatment rooms.
  • We are disinfecting frequently touched surfaces between patient appointments.
  • Emphasized handwashing for all staff before and after patient appointments.
  • Encouraging any employee who does not feel well to stay home to prevent the spread of any illness.

In preparation of your acupuncture appointment:
  • Pre-screening patients prior to their appointments. You will receive a COVID-19 screening form via the patient portal that must be completed before your appointment.
    • Patients are asked not to schedule an appointment and to contact their primary care provider through telephone if they have had any of the following symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, body aches, runny nose, nasal congestion, sore throat, or difficulty breathing.
    • Patients are asked to wait to schedule their appointment if in the last 14 days they have been in close contact with a person who is suspected to have COVID-19 while that person was ill or been in close contact with a person who has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • We are requiring that all patients coming into the clinic wear a face mask. This could be a bandana or a scarf. The purpose of the mask is to prevent droplet exchange from anyone you are close to, as well as to remind you to not touch your face.
  • Patients are asked to wait in their vehicle and text or call the office when they arrive to wait for a response from Jenny that they can enter the clinic.
  • Patients are asked to wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds at the bathroom sink prior to entering the clinic.
  • Patients will enter through the front door and will be directed to their treatment room.
  • Keeping payment information on file through AcuSimple to avoid physical contact of cards or sending invoices through email to be paid prior to your appointment.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need help finding an appointment time. You are welcome to schedule by text or telephone only for in person appointments. Telemedicine appointments remains available in online scheduling on the patient portal. For questions email at Jenny@ bridgetownacupuncture.com or call us at 503-567-8589.
